1. What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit Cutpace (the "Service"), letting it recognise the browser on later visits. Alongside cookies, the Service uses similar technologies: browser local storage for interface preferences and analytics.

2. Cookies Cutpace Uses

Cutpace uses only first-party cookies and browser storage. By name, purpose, place, and lifetime:

• rc_session: sign-in; cookie; 24 hours;
• rc_refresh: session renewal without signing in again; cookie; 30 days;
• rc_device: recognises this device so extra sessions can be limited; cookie; 365 days, remains after sign-out;
• rc_pending_verification: ties this browser to the account being confirmed during sign-up; cookie; until the confirmation code expires, 10 minutes;
• rc_onboarding_anon_id and rc_onboarding_flow_id: carry your answers and your place in the onboarding questionnaire before you have an account; cookies; 90 days, removed when you sign in;
• rc_consent: your cookie preference; cookie; 365 days;
• NEXT_LOCALE: interface language; cookie; until you change language;
• rc_nav_collapsed: whether the side navigation is collapsed; cookie; 365 days;
• rc_device_id: first-party product analytics; localStorage; set only after consent, lives until you clear storage or withdraw consent;
• rc_session_id: ties analytics events within one visit; sessionStorage; session with rotation after 30 minutes idle; rc_session_touched_at in sessionStorage holds the time of the last event for that rotation;
• rc_analytics_optout: your choice to switch product analytics off; localStorage; until you clear storage;
• rc_exp_ followed by an experiment name: which variant of a page you were shown, so it stays the same on later visits; cookie; 30 days; set only after consent;
• rc_acquired_via: which link or campaign first brought you here; cookie; 90 days;
• rc_aff: affiliate link, so a payout can be attributed correctly; cookie; 60 days.

Categories: essential (rc_session, rc_refresh, rc_device, rc_pending_verification, rc_onboarding_anon_id, rc_onboarding_flow_id, rc_consent, NEXT_LOCALE), functional (rc_nav_collapsed, theme and language in local storage), analytics (rc_device_id, rc_session_id, rc_session_touched_at, rc_analytics_optout, rc_exp_*), and marketing (rc_acquired_via, rc_aff). Analytics data is not sent to third-party services.

Third-party advertising and analytics trackers (web-analytics counters, ad pixels, session replay) are not used in the Service.

3. Essential vs Non-Essential

Essential cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be turned off without losing basic functionality. Functional, analytics, and marketing cookies require your explicit consent and can be turned off without affecting core functionality.

4. Managing Your Preferences

You can change cookie preferences through the consent banner on your first visit, at any time through the Service's cookie settings, and through your browser settings (blocking new cookies, deleting stored ones). Deleting essential cookies will require you to sign in again.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Cutpace does not place third-party advertising or analytics cookies in the Service. Two exceptions: the automated-registration protection service (captcha) may set its own essential cookies when you complete the check on sign-in and registration pages, and signing in through Google or Apple takes you to that provider's pages, where its own cookies and policy apply.

6. Do Not Track

The Service honours the browser Do Not Track signal: when DNT is on, non-essential cookies are not set without the user's explicit consent.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. A new version is published on this page with an updated version number and effective date; for material changes (new cookie categories or third-party providers) users are additionally notified in the Service.
